Is It Fall Shedding or Is My Hair Getting Thinner?
You’re doing your hair, the sunlight hits just right, and suddenly you can see more scalp than you remember. Or maybe your ponytail feels smaller. Maybe you’ve been pulling more hair out of your brush and wondering, Is this normal?
First, take a breath. Hair shedding can happen for a lot of reasons, and noticing a change doesn’t mean you have to figure it out alone.
At Citrine Extensions Lounge, we work with women who want their hair to feel like their hair again. Sometimes that means adding a little fullness. Sometimes it means finding a solution for more noticeable thinning. It always starts with a conversation about what you’re seeing and what you want.
What should I pay attention to?
Rather than counting every hair in your brush, think about what’s changed for you. Is your part looking wider? Does your scalp show more in photos or outside? Has your ponytail gotten smaller? Are there styles you’ve stopped wearing because you don’t feel comfortable in them anymore?
Those details help us understand your goals. If the change is sudden, comes with scalp symptoms, or has you concerned, it’s also worth checking in with a healthcare professional. We can help with how your hair looks and feels, but we can’t diagnose why it’s thinning.
You don’t have to wait until it’s “bad enough”
A lot of our guests tell us they almost didn’t book because they thought their hair loss wasn’t severe enough. Girl, you do not need to meet some imaginary threshold to ask about your options.
Depending on your hair and what you’re hoping for, we might talk about extensions for fullness and length, a topper for coverage, or mesh integration for more significant hair loss. We’ll look at your hair, talk through maintenance and pricing, and recommend what makes sense for you. And if something isn’t a good fit, we’ll tell you that too.
The goal is for you to leave understanding your options, even if you’re not ready to make a decision that day.
Fall appointments fill up quickly as everyone starts thinking about the holidays. If your hair has been on your mind, now is a good time to start the conversation.
